Dr Sluis-Cremer has a public hospital appointment at Coffs Harbour Base Hospital where he also helps train future orthopaedic surgeons, and works privately at Baringa Private Hospital and throughout the Coffs Coast region.

Our Rooms are centrally located near the Coffs Harbour Jetty.

About Dr Sluis-Cremer

Dr Tim Sluis-Cremer is a Melbourne and internationally trained orthopaedic surgeon based full time in Coffs Harbour. He specialises in hip and knee replacement, knee surgery, and the management of complex orthopaedic trauma, providing comprehensive care for both adults and children across public and private settings, including Coffs Harbour Health Campus and Baringa Private Hospital.

Originally from South Africa, Tim completed his medical degree at the University of Cape Town before undertaking advanced orthopaedic training and specialist qualification through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. He went on to complete multiple subspecialty fellowships across Australia and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

With a longstanding interest in science, sport, and problem-solving, orthopaedic surgery was a natural path—combining technical precision with the ability to restore function and improve quality of life.

Dr Sluis-Cremer has undertaken extensive fellowship training in:

  • Lower limb arthroplasty, including primary and revision hip and knee replacement

  • Complex orthopaedic trauma, pelvic and acetabular trauma and lower limb injuries

He has trained and worked at leading institutions including:

  • The Martin Singer Hand Unit, Cape Town

  • Knee replacement (total and partial, including robotic-assisted surgery)

  • Knee arthroscopy and ligament injury

  • Conditions of the upper limb including hand conditions

He has a particular interest in enhanced recovery pathways, including short-stay joint replacement programs designed to support faster recovery and return to function.
